CRAZY SIX (1997) TEASER PROMO

CRAZY SIX (1997) TEASER PROMO

by albert on March 6, 2010

I created this teaser promo while we were still in post production on Crazy Six. The promo was created for foreign distributors primarily although it was used for North America pay tv channels like HBO and Showtime as well. The film starred Rob Lowe, Burt Reynolds, Mario Van Peebles, Ice-T and Ivana Milicevic. Rob worked 8 shoot days, and Burt, Mario and Ice-T all worked just a single shoot day. The film was shot in ten days total. My longtime acting collaborators, Norbert Weisser and Thom Mathews are featured.

The songs featured in the promo are “Something This Way Comes” and “Maybe Tomorrow”. Both were written by the film’s composer, Tony Riparetti, and his longtime collaborator, Steve LeGassick. Michael Price also helped write the songs. We were going going for a Euro 80′s sound which was popular in Eastern Block countries in the early 90′s. Their equivalent to our hip hop at the time. Both songs are sung by Samantha Newark.

As you can tell, the film is very stylized and I was distinctly trying to create a fictional criminal world that I wanted to feel like a kind of 80′s noir. almost like a 90 minute dream state music video. The film was a big financial success but not so much a critical one. Let me know you’re thoughts!

This page will begin to have new video clips each day so please check in. also, if you could, please register your email addresses at curnanpictures@gmail.com so we can alert you to when a new video is up. Eventually the media page will become for registered visitors only once the content begins including exclusive clips from Tales of an Ancient Empire and music videos from Road to Hell.

It’s not precisely my favourite movie of yours. Can’t bring myself to watch it completely. Ivana Milicevic is what stood out the most for me. Great looker, acting out some great songs. “Something this way comes” is pretty awesome.

Hi from France, I’m a Burt Reynolds, and this film is very good. I think that artistically it’s one of your best and I very surprised that it was only made in 10 days !!!

Congratulations.
